Daqin rail line, the core asset of Daqin Railway Co., Ltd., completed 38.95 million tonnes of coal shipment in June, increasing by 8.74% year on year, said the company in a statement released on July 7.
Compared with May, the volume rose by 23.14% or 7.32 million tonnes, said the statement.
The daily coal transport volume in June stood at 1.30 million tonnes, an increment of 278,000 tonnes from the level in May.
Over January-June, Daqin railway transported 187.63 million tonnes of coal, a decline of 14.01% year on year, slowing from an 18.48% drop in the first five months.
Coal supply in Inner Mongolia was under great pressure due to the inadequate sales quota of the major mines. Besides, the number of rail wagons approved by the China Railway Hohhot Group slightly dropped, leading to a limited increase in transportation volume of Tanghu rail line.
Even so, the Daqin line managed to boost coal shipment to new highs, with transport nearly realizing full capacity.
