China National Nuclear Power Co., Ltd, the world's fourth largest nuclear power producer, saw power generation from new energy surge 667.74% year on year to 1.29 TWh in the first half of this year, said the company in a statement.
Its new energy electricity hooked up to power grid reached 1.26 TWh, a year-on-year jump of 647.71%.
The producer generated a total 68.44 TWh of electricity during January-June, an increase of 5.01% from the year prior. The on-grid output increased by 4.83% to 63.64 TWh.
The company, jointly established by controlling shareholder China National Nuclear Corporation, China Three Gorges Corporation, China COSCO Shipping Corporation and China Aerospace Investment Holdings Ltd, is mainly engaged in power sale and nuclear power technology service and consulting.
China National Nuclear Power Co., Ltd realized 46.07 billion yuan of operating revenue in 2019, climbing up 17.20% year on year, while its net profit attributable to parent company dropped 2.62% to 4.61 billion yuan.
The firm's 21 nuclear power units generated 136.21 TWh of electricity in 2019, up by 15.64% year on year, accounting for 39.13% of China's total output from operating nuclear power units.
By end-2019, China National Nuclear Power Co., Ltd had a total 47 nuclear power generating units, with installed capacity combined at 48.75 GW. Of this, 21 units were put into commercial operation, with capacity of 19.11 GW.
