Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region saw a 15.9% year-on-year rise in raw coal output in the first five months this year, showed local official data.
The region churned out 105.32 million tonnes of raw coal in January-May, said the Xinjiang Development and Reform Commission. Daily output was 648,000 tonnes, exceeding the level during the same period in history.
During the same period, Xinjiang saw crude oil output reach 12.15 million tonnes, up by 4.8% from the preceding year.
Production of conventional natural gas came in at 15.60 billion cubic meters, an increase of 11.0% year on year.
The region's electricity generation was 138.22 TWh in January-May, climbing up 11.6% year on year.
