Liaoning province in northeast China plans to close Dayaogou mine and Xiaolinghe mine of Liaoning Nanpiao Coal and Electricity Co., Ltd. in 2020, according to the announcement of Liaoning Provincial Development and Reform Commission.
The capacity exit will be 540,000 tonnes per year from Dayaogou mine and 600,000 tonnes per year from Xiaolinghe mine, amounting to 1.14 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) in total.
The two mines' production licenses have been revoked, and extraction activities have terminated.
Liaoning had 20 operating coal mines with a total production capacity of 34.65 Mtpa as of December 31, 2019, announced by the State Administration of Work Safety.
