Daqin railway, China's most significant coal-dedicated line shipping coal from northern production areas to transfer ports, hit a new record of a single-day shipment, data from China State Railway Group showed.
The railway shipped 1.38 million tonnes of coal on June 18, outstripping 16,000 tonnes than the previous record on June 10, 2018.
The month-to-date shipments totaled 22.99 million tonnes, an 8.87% rise from the same period a year earlier.
Daqin railway undertakes the task of transporting coal from major coal producing areas such as Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Inner Mongolia.
Zhang Lirong, deputy general manager of Daqin Railway Co. Ltd., said the railway line's annual transport target is 400 million tonnes, slightly lower than 430 million tonnes completed in 2019.
