During January 1-June 7, Xinjiang's coal shipment picked up 19.46% year on year, reported CCTV.
To increase outbound coal transportation, Xinjiang railway department has built two new coal transportation loop lines based on the main Wuzhun Railway which runs from Urumqi to Junggar Basin, Xinjiang in northwestern China.
The daily coal loading capacity can reach more than 50 trains in Xinjiang thanks to automatic loading technology, nearly six times faster than in previous times.
Meanwhile, new coal shipment stations such as Hetian and Hongling stations are added in southern Xinjiang. On the morning of June 6, the first coal-dedicated train departed from Hetian, Xinjiang for Zhangye city, Gansu province, also in northwestern China.
