The coke production declined 6.07% from a record high of 41.69 million tonnes in June.
Over January-July, coke production rose 6.7% on the year to 274 million tonnes.
As coke prices fell close to producers' break-even points after three rounds of price decrease, coupled with traders' increasing purchases from mid-July, steelmakers finally accepted a 100-yuan/t increase in late July.
Currently, coke and steel producers were discussing about another 100
yuan/t increase, which has been in stalemate for nearly one month.
