China's average steel price decreased 0.3% on the week, showed the latest price data of steel and other means of production from Ministry of Commerce monitored in the week ended May 13.
Specifically, prices of high-speed wire rod averaged 4,127 yuan/t in the week, down 0.6% from a week ago; the average prices of rebar, smooth bar and HRC were 4,034 yuan/t, 4,170 yuan/t and 4,144 yuan/t, respectively, down 0.6%, 0.1% and 0.3%.
Coal prices edged up in the week. Thermal coal prices averaged 596 yuan/t, unchanged week on week; anthracite 848 yuan/t, up 0.7%; coking coal, 750 yuan/t, up 0.4%.
The price of non-ferrous metals rose 0.5% on the week, in which copper, zinc, aluminum and lead prices increased 2.2%, 0.1%, 0.9% and 2.2%, respectively. Prices of tin and nickel decreased 0.8%, and 0.1%.
