China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, produced 56,000 tonnes of polyethylene in January, soaring 80.6% year on year, said the company in a statement on February 12.
Polyethylene sales surged 154.2% from a year earlier to 61,000 tonnes in January.
The company produced 61,000 tonnes of polypropylene in January, rising 110.3% year on year; polypropylene sales gained 229.4% from the year prior to 56,000 tonnes in the month.
Urea production of the company stood at 177,000 tonnes, down by 14.5% year on year; its sales decreased by 100% from the year prior to 252,000 tonnes.
China Coal Energy produced 53,000 tonnes of methanol in January, down 29.3% year on year; methanol sales dropped 47.4% from a year ago to 10,000 tonnes.
From January to December, 2017, polyethylene output stood at 498,000 tonnes, up 38% year on year; polyethylene sales increased by 39.6% from a year earlier to 501,000 tonnes.
China Coal Energy saw its polypropylene output up 37% year on year to 478,000 tonnes during the sme period; and polypropylene sales up 37.4% to 485,000 tonnes.
In last year, the company's urea production increased by 1.1% year on year to 2.00 million tonnes and that of sales increased by 15.9% year on year to 2.29 million tonnes.
Total methanol output reached 625,000 tonnes in the first twelve months of 2017, a year-on-year decreased of 4%. During the same period, methanol sales decreased by 66.8% year on year to 133,000 tonnes.
China Coal Energy said its methanol sales mentioned above does not include 586,000 tonnes for self use.
