Power supply could be guaranteed at normal level in eastern China's Jiangxi province during the coming Spring Festival, as current power coal stocks are abundant, said Jiangxi Electric Power Co., Ltd of State Grid Corporation of China.
The company currently has 1.57 million tonnes of power coal stocks, which could last for 17 days based on daily coal burn of 0.09 million tonnes.
The highest power load in the province is expected to touch 13 GW on the Chinese New Year's Eve, while the lowest power load may reach 5.2 GW in the two days after the Spring Festival.
Power producers have stepped up efforts to coordinate mines and rail authorities to lock power coal supply, after the provincial development and reform commission warned of acute shortage late last month.
