Northwestern China's Shaanxi province produced 327 million tonnes of coal in the first eight months this year, up 9.72% or 28.93 million tonnes from a year ago, showed data from Shaanxi Development and Reform Commission.
The province's output picked up in August from a month ago, but the commission was yet to publish detailed data.
During the eight months, the province sold 320 million tonnes of coal, increasing 8.52% or 25.10 million tonnes from the year before.
As of the end of August, coal stocks totaled 2.12 million tonnes in Shaanxi, growing 7.85% or 154,200 tonnes from a month ago but slumping 48.26% or 1.98 million tonnes from a year earlier, the commission said.
