Baoshen Railway Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of coal giant Shenhua Group, transported 16.49 million tonnes of cargoes in August, outstripping the targeted 15.79 million tonnes for the month, said Shenhua Group on its website.
The volume was also 3.22 million tonnes or 24.3% higher than the year-ago level, said the group.
The company operates four rail lines, including Baoshen, Ganquan, Xinzhun and Tahan lines.
Cargoes deliveries of Baoshennan and Baoshenbei rail lines stood at 12.11 million and 2.2 million tonnes in August, increasing 1.36 million and 1.03 million tonnes year on year, respectively.
Tahan and Ganquan lines realized 469,000 and 717,000 tonnes of cargoes in the month, up 452,000 and 259,000 tonnes from the year prior, while Bazhun line, a part of Xinzhun line, transported 1.59 million tonnes of cargoes, rising 582,000 tonnes year on year.
The company had put great efforts to boost non-coal rail transport. As of August 31, deliveries of non-coal cargoes stood at 514,000 tonnes, the highest level since 2017 on monthly basis.
