Shuohuang Railway Development Co. Ltd. registered 272 million tonnes of cargo transport in 2016, hitting a new record high, said Shenhua Group on its website on January 3.
The company planned to haul 243.25 million tonnes of coal in 2016. As of November 22, it had transported 243.56 million tonnes of coal, fulfilling the annual target 39 days ahead of schedule.
Shuohuang Railway has actively increased non-coal transport recently. In 2016, the company finished its non-coal transport target of 6.6 million tonnes for 17 cargoes including steel billets and copper concentrate powder.
Shuohuang Railway is the operator of China's second largest coal-dedicated Shuohuang line (Shenchi, Shanxi -- Huanghua port, Hebei), Huangwan line (Huanghua port – Wanjia terminal, Tianjin) and Huangda line (Huanghua port – Dajiawa station, Shandong).
China Shenhua Energy Co. Ltd. holds 52.72% stake in Shuohuang Railway Development, while another key shareholder Taiyuan Railway Bureau owns 41.16% stake, and the rest 6.12% stake is owned by Hebei Construction & Investment Co. Ltd..
From May 18, 2000 to November 30, 2016, Shuohuang Railway Development transported more than 2.3 billion tonnes of coal.
